Introduced in June 2018, the Alberta Opportunity Stream is tailored for foreign nationals already employed in Alberta, holding an official offer of full-time employment from an Alberta employer. Eligibility criteria encompass various aspects such as work experience, language proficiency, and education.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Also launched in June 2018, the Alberta Express Entry stream facilitates the nomination of select candidates with active profiles in the federal Express Entry system. Alberta automatically considers profiles in the federal Express Entry pool, aiming for candidates who exhibit strong ties to the province and can contribute to regional economic development.
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway
This pathway allows Express Entry candidates with a job offer in Alberta’s tech industry or an eligible tech role to apply for nomination with expedited processing. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the Alberta Express Entry stream and work in one of the identified in-demand tech occupations.
AAIP Farm Stream
Targeting individuals with extensive farm ownership and operation experience, the Alberta Farm Stream requires candidates to submit a detailed proposal outlining their plan to establish a new agricultural farm in Alberta.
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Designed for international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions, the Graduate Entrepreneur stream offers a pathway to permanent residence for those wishing to start and operate a business in the province. Candidates are ranked through a points-based Expression of Interest system, with the highest-ranking applicants invited to submit a detailed Business Application.
Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Offering a similar pathway to permanent residence, the Foreign Entrepreneur Stream caters to recent graduates with a foreign post-secondary credential who intend to establish and manage a business in Alberta. Eligible candidates can register a profile through AAIP’s online portal and submit a Business Application for the opportunity to start a business in Alberta and apply for permanent residence.
